I noticed that I had a knack for creating memorable customer experiences, building community, and marketing my brand in a way that was authentic.
I started to get questions about how I was growing my business and digital community so quickly, so I put my teaching hat back on and launched my first online marketing course to share the little-known techniques that were bringing me success. Things escalated quickly and I decided to focus entirely on teaching and selling online courses.
By external measures of success, I was flying high, but inside something felt off.
I learned the ins and outs of growing a successful digital business – from every facet of online marketing and creating streamlined systems to hiring an incredible team and crafting irresistible offers.
It took two bouts of severe burnout, a breakup, and the death of my dog to get me to acknowledge that something needed to change. I loved my company, our team, and the impact we were making in the world, but deep down, I craved something more simple. I wanted to touch people’s lives on a smaller scale and focus more on alignment than achievement.
To do what? Well, I wasn’t sure yet! But I trusted that if I surrendered to the flow, followed my creative impulses, and truly listened to the current of life that had been whispering to me all this time, I would figure it out eventually.
6 months later, those whispers led me to Portugal. I was meant to stay for a month and, well, over two years later, I never left.
I’ve used my background in online marketing and leading teams to host sold-out events and turn a profit in a notoriously challenging industry (a bookstore and restaurant in another country, for the love!).

What I’ve learned from following the path of surrender and alignment is that you can truly create anything in life if you know how to adjust your aperture to possibility instead of problems.
I’ve learned that a truly powerful person is one who knows how to let go of society’s expectations for how your life should look, and instead adopt your own beliefs for how it gets to feel.
I’ve learned that literal magic ensues when you decide to see things with curiosity and trust, and follow the flow of life instead of resisting it.
I know that my experience is not unique – at some point nearly everyone will be faced with crossroads and turning points in their life. But what I’ve noticed (and experienced firsthand) is that when those moments arise, where you can choose to follow the path of what’s true or what’s comfortable, it can sometimes take years if not a lifetime to make a courageous change.
